FAQ's

Let's start with an initial phone call where I can start to gather your vision and design needs. I will work on some initial estimates and communicate back and forth until we feel we have a solid proposal and timeline. Most saunas will take me between 5-6 weeks depending on equipment/material availability and delivery schedules.

I can then send you an invoice for 50% down payment and I will begin ordering supplies and moving forward with your build!

When I get closer to completion, I will see what your schedule looks like and try to schedule delivery times that works for everyone. I contract with a professional shed moving company. They are a huge advantage because they have all the good equipment to conveniently place your sauna in many different locations. Delivery price is calculated to your specific location and added to the total of the sauna build.

We build saunas off-site and hand-deliver them to you via a professional moving company. We need clear pathways around any corners and through fences to safely move your sauna to its desired location. As a general rule of thumb, having a foot of space between any obstacles and the sauna is helpful. SaunaHub or any affiliates are not responsible to de-construct or remove major obstacles.

Countryside Sheds handles delivery aspects, and they come fully equipped with hydraulic trailers and machines to safely and easily place your sauna even in tight spaces. It's really something to see them work their professional moving equipment ensuring your sauna arrives safely and is placed correctly!

The site of your sauna should be as level as possible. Saunas are built with pressure-treated bases, so you can choose to have dirt, gravel, or concrete at your site. SaunaHub or affiliates will perform minor leveling adjustments but are not responsible for major sloping or any site preparation.

1) Higher R-values in the walls and ceiling - R-value is used to measure heat retention. We only build saunas with insulated walls and ceiling as compared to kits and barrels that generally only use single 2x4 walls. The R-value of kits and barrels amounts to roughly R-2, as compared to our saunas that start at R-13 in the walls and the ceiling. We focus on achieving high R-values to minimize heat loss and retain as much heat for as long as possible.

2) Proper moisture/radiant barrier. As moisture tries to escape our saunas, it is blocked by aluminum sheeting hidden behind the cedar cladding, keeping the warm steam inside the sauna instead of seeping into the walls and roof, preventing rot. The aluminum barrier also reflects radiant heat back into the sauna, making the heater more efficient at warming the room and keeping it hot. Kits and barrels are void of this feature.

3) Outdoor durability - My saunas come standard with a proper metal roof, built just like a house, as opposed to barrels and kits that generally do not offer a long-lasting solution to protect against ice, rain, and snow. Not to mention there have been cases of barrel sauna walls forming gaps between the boards that allow rain and snow melt to seep in.

4) Two-tier bench system - Many barrels and even kit saunas include only one level of benches. It's important to sit as high as possible to remain in the heat pocket that forms towards the top of the room, and this is only achievable with a double-bench system.

5) Saves you TIME. - Because I fully construct and deliver to you, I save you the hassle and the work of building your own. This leaves you with more time that is better spent with your family and close friends! It's my vision to provide you a premium-quality sauna without the hassle of ordering materials, mistakes, and headaches!

Every sauna will come pre-wired inside so you can focus on connecting your main power supply. Please consult with your electrician to determine how to connect your sauna to your main panel via underground conduit. Depending on your heater size, you will generally need a 40-amp 240-volt circuit breaker, non-GFI.

Sauna heaters are designed for water to poured on the hot stones to create a wave of steam that's very therapeutic. I highly recommended that the user waits to pour water until the rocks are heated, and the elements have been turned off and are NOT GLOWING RED anymore. You will prolong the life of your heater elements if you can keep cold water off of red-hot heating elements. Warranty does not cover elements that are burned out due to in-appropriate amounts of water being poured on the elements.
